I had one on my '87 Savage. It was called a "throttle lock" and was basically a lever operated clamp. Much easier to operate than HD's version. It was an after market item purchased at a dealership, I don't know who made it.

On the hand going numb thing, it happens to a lot of us. In my case it's because a nerve in my neck gets stretched over what the medico's call a "cervical rib" when I hold my arm out in front of me. Permanent cure involves breaking the collar bone and re-routing the nerve so I took a pass. I've had this for 20+ years and have gotten used to it.

Check your local dealers and maybe even the dreaded JCW catalog. Or maybe you can talk WD into adding it to his line of Savage accessories.
